Position Overview
Position: Registered Nurse, Interventional Radiology
Location: Elmhurst
Hours: Day Shift, Monday – Friday (4 days per week, 7 a.m. start). On‑call responsibility, must be able to report to Elmhurst within 30 minutes.
Hourly Pay Range: $36.00 - $55.80 – determined by expertise and years of experience.
Qualifications- Active Illinois RN license.
- Graduate of a NLN accredited school of Nursing. BSN strongly preferred; must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
- CPR: BLS & ACLS required (issued by American Heart Association).
- Critical Care/Emergency Department and conscious sedation experience highly preferred.
- Medical Surgical with telemetry monitoring experience preferred.
- Provide nursing care for Interventional Radiology patients.
- Administer IV conscious sedation and medications under physician direction.
- Monitor patient status during procedures and respond to emergencies, including contrast reactions.
- Start IVs, manage central lines, and perform dressing changes.
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and care teams to ensure safe, efficient procedures.
- Coordinate and support daily procedure scheduling and patient flow within the IR lab.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and follow‑up care.
- Document all care and procedures accurately in Epic.
- Support quality and safety initiatives, including inventory and equipment readiness.
- Precept and mentor new staff and assist with training of team members.
