Overview
Join the mission: build quality in, not inspect it out. At RGC, quality is designed into every part we make. As our Manufacturing Quality Inspector, Calibration & CMM Specialist, you’ll champion that mission by verifying components against customer, company (RGC), and industry criteria—while coaching teams and refining processes so excellence becomes routine.
Your mission- Own the flow of inspections—first article, in-process, and final—to protect timelines and specifications.
- Validate supplier material on receipt and confirm customer shipments meet all requirements.
- Translate drawings, specifications, and control plans into robust inspection strategies using GD&T.
- Develop and run programs on manual and CNC CMMs (PC-DMIS / Modus preferred) for precise dimensional results.
- Apply metrology tools—/OD micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, tooth verniers, and a Hofler gear inspection machine—to capture critical features.
- Lead calibration activities to keep the measurement system accurate and audit-ready.
- Contain and disposition nonconforming product; support corrective actions with data-driven insights.
- Mentor production staff on effective measurement techniques to reduce variation at the source.
- Contribute to PPAP/ISIR documentation, process capability analyses, and first-article reports.
- Maintain organized quality records and customer files that stand up to any audit.
- Engage in internal audits and partner on supplier quality improvements.
- 2–4 years in a manufacturing or quality assurance role within precision machining.
- Proven blueprint reading with GD&T application.
- Required:
calibration experience. - Competence with SPC and foundational math/geometry.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency.
- Preferred exposure to bevel gear manufacturing.
- CMM platforms (Mitutoyo, Hexagon) using PC-DMIS;
Modus familiarity is advantageous. - Calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, measurement gauges, tooth verniers.
- Hofler gear inspection machine and related quality control software.
On the production floor in a CNC machining environment—close to the process and the data.
