LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a motivated Quality Engineer – Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who enjoys working cross-functionally, driving continuous improvement initiatives, solving complex manufacturing challenges, and ensuring compliance with rigorous customer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring experience from a manufacturing environment and possess a strong understanding of quality systems, customer requirements, corrective actions, and process improvement methodologies.

This role offers significant visibility across operations, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customer-facing quality activities.

The Quality Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing quality performance throughout the manufacturing process. This individual will support customer requirements, lead root cause and corrective action investigations, manage quality documentation, participate in audits, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve product quality, process capability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review customer specifications, drawings, and purchase order requirements to ensure appropriate quality planning and compliance activities are established.
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain quality documentation including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages, First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), control plans, inspection documentation, and customer-specific submissions.
  • Support manufacturing and engineering teams during product launches, process changes, and quality planning activities.
  • Lead investigations involving nonconforming products, customer concerns, and internal quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Drive corrective and preventive action processes utilizing tools such as 8D, 5 Why Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and CAPA methodologies.
  • Facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) activities and ensure timely disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external customer, regulatory, and certification audits.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality-related concerns.
  • Analyze quality metrics and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and risk reduction.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles.
  • Support quality management system compliance and ongoing enhancement efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training or certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality tools and methodologies including: FAIR (First Article Inspection Reports), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), 8D Problem Solving, 5 Why Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working within AS9100 and/or NADCAP environments.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, brazing, surface finishing, or related manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated manufacturing environments where precision, traceability, and compliance are critical.

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $95,000
