Fireplace & Chimney Authority is looking for an experienced Gas Fireplace Service Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, cleaning, maintaining, and installing residential gas fireplaces while providing professional service to our customers.
What You’ll Do- Diagnose gas-fireplace problems and determine the necessary repairs
- Repair or replace components such as gas valves, ignition systems, thermocouples, and thermopiles
- Clean and maintain gas fireplaces to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Install gas fireplaces according to manufacturer specifications and applicable building codes
- Troubleshoot electrical, gas, and mechanical fireplace issues
- Explain repair options and maintenance recommendations to customers
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job
- Keep company vehicles, tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
- Follow company procedures and all applicable safety requirements
- Obtain NFI certification within one calendar year of employment
- Previous appliance-service, fireplace-service, or related technician experience
- Basic knowledge of gas-fireplace systems, components, and operation
- Familiarity with electrical and gas systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Ability to pass a background check
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Starting at $25.00 per hour
- Additional compensation based on experience and NFI certification
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days with company contribution
- 80 hours/two weeks of PTO after 90 days of continuous employment
- 401(k) with company match
- Free $50,000 life insurance policy after one year of continuous employment
