Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET)

A growing medical equipment service organization is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) based in Elmhurst, Illinois. The BMET will be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and calibrating a variety of biomedical and medical equipment.

Equipment may include defibrillators, ventilators, infusion pumps, AEDs, stretchers, suction units, and other medical devices. This is a hands-on field service position that combines technical troubleshooting with regular travel throughout the Midwest.

The ideal candidate will have previous biomedical or medical equipment service experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality customer support.

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and calibration of biomedical and medical equipment.
• Service a variety of devices, including defibrillators, ventilators, infusion pumps, AEDs, stretchers, suction units, and related equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and equipment performance issues and determine appropriate repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and quality assurance testing.
• Complete service work in accordance with OEM service manuals, established procedures, and applicable quality standards.
• Ensure serviced equipment is safe, functional, reliable, and meets manufacturer specifications.
• Complete service documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Travel to customer locations throughout the Midwest to provide equipment service and technical support.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and leadership regarding equipment status and service needs.
• Maintain company-provided tools, test equipment, and assigned company vehicle.
• Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development.

• 2+ years of relevant biomedical equipment or field service experience preferred.
• Experience servicing, repairing, maintaining, or calibrating medical equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation and OEM service procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage service priorities while in the field.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly throughout the Midwest.
• No specific biomedical certifications are required.

Regular travel throughout the Midwest region is required and may involve approximately 3–4 overnight stays per week, depending on service and customer needs. A company vehicle will be provided for work-related travel.
