Instructional Assistant

With ongoing positions available, you'll work closely 1:1 with preschoolers or students in ASD programs, helping nurture growth and educational success every day.

• Experience working as a paraprofessional, teachers aide, or teaching assistant in a school or preschool setting.
• Behavioral experience strongly preferred; ability and comfort in assisting with personal care tasks, including diaper changing.
• For assistant roles:
  Active New York State Teachers Assistant Certification required.
• For aide roles:
  Prior experience supporting preschoolers or working with students with behavioral needs.
• Compassionate, patient, and eager to collaborate with educators and other professionals onsite.

• Provide individualized support to assigned students, including those within ASD programs.
• Implement and reinforce behavioral strategies as outlined by educators or specialists.
• Support daily routines, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
• Foster meaningful relationships to encourage student engagement and participation.
• Communicate regularly with lead teachers and other staff regarding student progress.
• Adapt quickly to the dynamic needs of each child, providing classroom and personal care assistance as needed.

• Full-time contract through June 2027, working 32.5 hours per week onsite.
• Multiple positions open across varied school locations, giving flexibility in preferred site assignments.
• Direct involvement in creating positive outcomes for children with unique needs.
• Opportunities to build valuable experience in both general and special education environments.

Compensation for this position ranges from $16.85 to $33.54.
