Registered Nurse - Stroke Telemetry Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description:

The 3B/3C Stroke Telemetry Unit is a high-acuity, fast-paced medical-surgical environment specializing in the care of acute stroke and complex telemetry patients. This 34-bed unit focuses on delivering evidence-based, protocol-driven care with a strong emphasis on patient safety, rapid intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and document frequent neurological assessments (including NIH Stroke Scale).
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, responding to changes in real time.
• Ensure compliance with stroke core measures (dysphagia screening, education, care plans).
• Administer medications using BCMA standards with a focus on safety and accuracy.
• Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team (providers, therapy, case management).
• Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover environment.
• Maintain a constant focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and patient safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current RN license in the respective state.
• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications.
• Ability to read basic rhythm strips.
