The HIV Care Clinic provides compassionate, patient-centered HIV diagnosis, comprehensive treatment, and support services including linkage to medical, psychological, and social resources.
Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner will deliver high-quality clinical care to people living with HIV and individuals at risk for HIV infection. This role includes comprehensive care delivery, preventive services (e.g., PrEP/PEP counseling), chronic disease management, coordination with specialty services, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities
Provide HIV care including diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and follow-up care
Manage and treat patients with complex needs related to HIV and comorbid conditions
Provide screening, counseling, and preventive interventions (PrEP, PEP, U=U education)
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (physicians, nursing staff, case managers, social workers)
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in electronic health records
Participate in quality improvement activities and community outreach
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing (NP) from an accredited program
Current licensure and prescriptive authority in New York State (NP)
National board certification (NP)
Experience in primary care, infectious disease or HIV care preferred
Strong clinical judgment and collaborative interdisciplinary skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with HIV medicine and management of antiretroviral therapy
Certification such as AAHIVE / HIV Specialist credentials or equivalent clinical HIV experience
Knowledge of PrEP/PEP prescribing and HIV preventive strategies
