ROLE OVERVIEWThe Retail Event Operations Associate is responsible for carrying out front-line event setup, executing logistics for the retail infrastructure at live events, and ensuring operational excellence throughout every stage of the fan experience. This role supports the full lifecycle of event retail — from merchandise setup and stocking to sales transactions and breakdown — while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service to ensure the Fanatics brand is always positively represented.
The Retail Event Operations Associate delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.
Success is measured by the ability to deliver results through BOLD capabilities and measurable outcomes.
Team & Leadership Impact- Collaborate with the onsite Retail Event Management Team to ensure all directives are executed efficiently and the retail environment meets Fanatics' standards throughout each event.
- Support fellow team members during setup, breakdown, and sales operations, fostering a fun, professional, and high-performing environment for both staff and fans.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with team members, demonstrating a willingness to set and uphold high standards of performance throughout every assignment.
- Deliver an exceptional, fan-first experience by maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service at every touchpoint.
- Engage warmly and effectively with fans and guests, creating an exciting and welcoming retail environment that reflects the Fanatics brand.
- Handle sales transactions accurately using the Fanatics Point of Sale (POS) system, applying basic math skills to count change and balance the bank with precision.
- Respond to guest and partner needs with a willingness and drive to exceed expectations at every interaction.
- Adapt quickly to a fast-paced, continuously changing event environment, independently identifying and resolving operational challenges as they arise.
- Contribute ideas and observations to the Retail Event Management Team that improve the organization, cleanliness, and overall effectiveness of the retail setup.
- Bring curiosity and a self-motivated approach to learning Fanatics' systems, processes, and tools in order to operate with greater efficiency at each event.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of merchandise trucks, stocking of merchandise, and organization of supplies and equipment with a consistent eye for detail.
- Maintain the sales floor and stockroom to Fanatics' standards, ensuring the retail environment is neat, organized, clean, and fully stocked for all events.
- Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality for the full duration of each event or assignment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Retail Event Management Team, approaching every task with a determined and relentless mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Experience working in a venue, retail, or merchandise environment, with the ability to thrive in a high-energy, event-based setting.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, self-motivated demeanor and a genuine enthusiasm for meeting new people in an exciting environment.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly, as well as collaboratively as part of a team, in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment.
- Basic math proficiency, including the ability to accurately count change and balance a cash bank.
