Shriners Children’s Chicago offers specialized care for a wide range of pediatric orthopedic, bone, and joint conditions, including rare diseases and syndromes. Other specialties include spine and scoliosis care, plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate care, comprehensive rehabilitation, and spinal cord injuries.

The pay range for this position is $25.83 per hour to $38.75 per hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

• The surgical technologist is an integral part of the surgical health care team and functions in the role of scrub person.
• The ST works under the supervision of the registered nurse and surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified Surgical Technologist
• Minimum 1 year of experience with scrub skills
• Prior experience with sterile technique, infection control, sterilization and disinfection procedures
