MIG and TIG Welder – Machine Shop

Elmwood Park, IL | $29–$36 per hour, based on experience and skill level
Regular hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM Overtime: Optional Saturday mornings

A machine shop in Elmwood Park is adding a skilled welder. This is a hands‑on position for someone who reads prints independently, manages their own jobs, and takes pride in clean, consistent MIG and TIG work, quality, and safety.

• Perform MIG and TIG welding to blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications
• Read weld symbols, dimensions, and notes to select the right process and setup
• Produce clean, consistent welds with minimal supervision

• Inspect your own welds for quality, fit, and compliance with the drawing
• Follow all shop safety procedures and keep your work area clean and organized

• 3+ years of professional welding experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or fabrication environment (strong candidates with 2+ years may be considered)
• Strong MIG welding skills and TIG welding experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
• Commitment to safe work practices

• 5+ years of welding experience
• Welding certifications
• Additional machine shop or industrial manufacturing experience
