Shriners Children’s Chicago offers specialized care for a wide range of pediatric orthopedic, bone and joint conditions, including rare diseases and syndromes. Other specialties include spine and scoliosis care, plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate care, comprehensive rehabilitation and spinal cord injuries.

Shriners Children’s Chicago has an opportunity for a part-time day shift PICU/PACU RN in our PICU/PACU combined unit. In this position, you will provide emergency intensive care to critically ill pediatric patients and will be cross-trained PACU for our combined unit. You will have the opportunity to support patients through their journey from admission through discharge, with many patients returning for follow-up care as they grow.

Hours This part-time position will work 2/12s, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm. There is also a weekend and holiday on-call requirement. The pay range for this position is $38.13/hour - $47.67/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Location Shriners Children’s Chicago, Elmwood Park, IL.

• Assesses comprehensive data including physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs and interprets assessment information to derive the diagnosis.
• Involves patient, family and health care team members in formulating a culturally appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
• Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family and health care team members.
• Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient’s condition and learning needs.
• Evaluates the patient/family’s understanding of and response to the plan of care.

• Required
• BSN degree required or in progress
• RN license in the state of Illinois
• BLS & PALS
• Two years acute care hospital experience

• Preferred
• Previous ICU, PACU or NICU experience
• Pediatric experience in an orthopedic and/or plastics environment
• Bilingual English/Spanish
