Responsibilities
  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
  • Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; handle changes, receipts, and packaging while delivering top-notch guest service.
  • Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
  • Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in, Pro Rewards).
  • Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies and procedures.
  • Monitor associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed.
  • Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training are completed prior to shifts; ensure associates understand policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocols, and ethics.
  • Schedule store associates to meet guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain high levels of guest service.
  • Approve payroll and manage PTO; verify time worked and ensure accurate payment.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
  • Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
  • Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
  • Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and perform required administrative tasks.
  • Count and restock inventory; move products to ensure representation and organization on the sales floor.
  • Balance daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and manage cash and deposits as required.
  • Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct inventories; communicate issues to management.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; label boxes with packing lists.
  • Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries per company guidelines.
  • Organize store records/files and keep manuals up to date.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures.
Qualifications
  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
  • Retail management experience preferred (6 months).
  • Retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred (2+ years).
  • Video game knowledge preferred.

Benefits

Full-time store positions at Game Stop are eligible to participate in incentive programs, health benefits, paid time off, 401(k), employee discount, and a casual work environment. Positions may be eligible for bonuses or other incentives.

Pay: $19.35 - $23.35
