Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni Engagement, the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Initiatives is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision of Elon's alumni relationship cultivation and stewardship, volunteerism and professional development efforts.
The Assistant Director is responsible for building relationships with Elon alumni to engage them in activities that will enhance the future of our university. This position will design a strategic approach to identify, cultivate, and steward our alumni as partners, advocates, and investors. This position will communicate with the alumni body regularly via the monthly alumni newsletter and Elon alumni social media accounts.
In addition, the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Initiatives will provide leadership of advancement's alumni professional engagement efforts including, but not limited to, in-person and virtual professional development, networking opportunities and lifelong learning programs/events. The Assistant Director, in coordination with other colleagues and units across campus, will help develop, build and promote a variety of programming for alumni both on and off campus plus virtually.
In addition, the Assistant Director will be responsible for managing a menu of alumni volunteer opportunities and promoting them to the alumni body. In conjunction with other members of the Alumni Engagement team, the Assistant Director will identify and recruit alumni volunteers and inspire excitement for opportunities. This position will also develop and implement a program of communication with alumni who have completed volunteer roles to inspire future and continued engagement.
The person in this position is expected to be a key leader within the Alumni Engagement team and play a vital role in helping University Advancement achieve its engagement goals.
