Purpose of the JobThe Roving Relationship Banker is responsible for serving the financial needs of member-owners accurately and efficiently, developing a strong rapport to support the Credit Union’s mission of enhancing members’ financial lives and becoming their preferred financial partner. This role performs tasks across the Branch, including processing teller transactions, lending, account opening and maintenance, opening savings and investment products, and other account services.
The Roving Relationship Banker provides coverage to an area of assigned branch locations within a defined market and may require overtime hours based on business needs. The duties vary by branch coverage and may require working a variety of shift schedules at different locations.
- Engages members in conversation to provide quality guidance and credit reviews to uncover their financial needs and goals.
- Identifies quality referrals to other business units such as Business Services, Mortgage, and Truliant Financial Advisors.
- Accurately and efficiently processes account openings and maintenance, loan applications, and transactions for members.
- Adheres to Credit Union member service standards and provides first contact problem resolution.
- Interacts professionally across a variety of branches within the Branch Network.
- Maintains integrity and confidentiality when handling member accounts.
- Follows all Credit Union and security policies and assists Branch Manager to control loan and fraud losses.
- Performs teller transactions and has the capability to balance CDMs, TCRs, ATMs, and vault
- Conducts member service operations, including opening new accounts and initiating relationship building with knowledge of products and services that benefit the member.
- Resolves account issues, escalating as necessary.
- Provides information and processes deposit and loan solutions, reviews credit needs for further loan opportunities, and offers mortgages, service agreements, and insurance as appropriate.
- Processes Business Services requests, including business service loan requests and processing.
- Manages loan and deposit pipeline to ensure timely follow-up and converts leads into successes.
- Understands IRA processes and products; opens and maintains IRA accounts.
- Processes loan requests and reviews credit needs for additional opportunities; handles and opens specialty accounts as needed.
- Represents the Credit Union with visits to Business Partners and other Credit Union functions.
- Participates in staff meetings to enhance knowledge and understanding of operations.
- Understands audit procedures and maintains the integrity of audit guidelines.
- Proactively assists members by making financial services more convenient, including educating on available technology tools.
- Contributes to the Branch’s plan to achieve goals and objectives, including member service scores, loan and deposit production, new member growth, and partner referrals.
- Provides assistance with member service on the MSR line and supports other tasks and projects as assigned.
- Flexible to work in different branch locations on different days as priorities change.
- Strong understanding of standard concepts, practices, procedures, regulations and compliance in financial services.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills; able to work with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible, compassionate.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Commitment to audit procedures and maintaining audit integrity.
- Good arithmetic and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of advanced products and services; service recovery concepts to enhance member satisfaction.
- Understanding of credit underwriting concepts; notary appointment or attainment within 3 months of hire.
