Quality Technician / Quality Inspector
This role focuses on inspecting machined components and assemblies to ensure they meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. You will perform dimensional inspections, document results, support material traceability, and help maintain calibrated inspection equipment within an assembly production facility.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine inspection requirements.
- Perform dimensional inspection of components using inspection tools and gauges such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, feeler gauges, and pin gauges.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined components and final assemblies to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Ensure proper documentation accompanies all outgoing shipments, including material traceability reports and certificates of conformity.
- Transact approved material in the system and ensure items are properly identified, labeled, and staged for put-away.
- Perform equipment calibrations on inspection tools, including calipers, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, and related devices.
- Record inspection data accurately in the Assembly Inspection History Record using a tablet or similar device.
- Notify supervisors and quality engineers of any nonconforming products and support follow-up actions as needed.
- Follow established quality control and quality assurance procedures throughout the inspection process.
- Support regular overtime requirements, typically 5 or more hours per week, to meet production and quality demands.
- Proven experience using calipers for dimensional inspection.
- Proven experience using micrometers, including mic threads, for precision measurement.
- Proven experience using bore gauges for internal dimension measurements.
- Proven experience using feeler (filler) gauges for gap and clearance measurements.
- Proven experience using pin gauges for verifying hole sizes and tolerances.
- Hands-on experience with inspection, quality control, and quality assurance activities in a production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Ability to perform visual inspection of machined components and assemblies.
- Ability to accurately record inspection data and maintain inspection records.
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Excel.
- Experience recording data using tablets or digital devices.
- Familiarity with quality inspection tools and gauges beyond those listed is an asset.
- Experience working in an assembly production facility or similar manufacturing environment.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in an assembly production facility with a focus on machined components and final assemblies. You will work a regular shift from Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with training scheduled on either a 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM shift. The role requires regular overtime of approximately 5 or more hours per week and includes a shift premium.
You will use a variety of inspection tools and gauges such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, feeler gauges, pin gauges, torque wrenches, and pressure gauges, and you will record inspection data using a tablet in the Assembly Inspection History Record. The environment is production-focused, where adherence to quality standards, safety practices, and proper handling of components and documentation is essential.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $47840.00/yr. Dental, Health, 401K, Vision.
