Must be at least 18 years of age

Experience in working with kids, teens, and adults

Experience and knowledge of pianoand music theory

Pay: $30.00 - 33.00/hr

Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate piano lessons

If you have a knowledge and understanding of piano fundamentals and passion for and experience teaching.

This is a year-round part-time role starting asap. There are multiple opportunities to extend.

In this role, the Piano Instructor atKent Commonswill lead participants through 30-minute piano lessons. Class goals are to improve upon/learn piano technique and skills, foster and appreciation for music, and engage in self-expression in a safe through music.

Music recitals are held in early December and late May.

Monday-Friday Afterschoolhours4pm-8:30pm.

Possible Saturday afternoons-early evening

July/August

• Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate piano lessons. Instructors are expected to plan lesson curriculum.
• Plan, lead, and implement course appropriate activities for each lesson, focusing on technique development.
• Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance logs and incident reports.
• Must pass a WSP criminal background check.

• Kent Commons Community Center

• Temporary employees with the City of Kent do not receive insurance or time off benefits outside of those which are legally mandated.
• In certain instances, temporary employees may be eligible for retirement benefits through the State of Washington’s Department of Retirement Systems.
