In the Civil Division, approximately 80 attorneys provide legal support to the executive branch agencies in the form of general counsel advice, administrative hearing prosecutions, board representation, and all stages of civil litigation.

The Delaware Department of Justice, Civil Division, Administrative Law and Education Unit, Kent County, is looking for a highly motivated and committed Deputy Attorney General (DAG) to serve as general counsel to administrative boards and commissions, primarily within the Delaware Division of Professional Regulation.

• The salary of $95,329 for the Deputy Attorney General I position applies to candidates who hold active bar admission.

The assigned DAG will provide legal advice to various professional administrative boards and commissions within the Delaware Division of Professional Regulation that regulate the practice of various licensed professions within the state, the Delaware Association of Professional Engineers, the Environmental Appeals Board, the Coastal Zone Industrial Control Board, Governor’s Advisory Council for Exceptional Citizens, and the Lottery Commission. The DAG will be expected to provide guidance on applicable legal standards and Freedom of Information Act compliance, draft and review legislation and regulations, attend public meetings, and represent the boards and commissions in administrative proceedings, including drafting orders, and in court on appeals from those proceedings.
