Position Summary
The Elwood Community School Corporation is looking for a part-time IT Support Technician to join the Elwood Community School’s IT Department. The Part-Time IT Support Technician provides day-to-day technical support to district staff and students. The position is responsible for responding to technology support requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with Chromebook and computer deployment, and providing support for classroom and office technology.
Working under the direction of the Director of Technology and in coordination with the IT Systems Specialist, the IT Support Technician helps ensure that technology issues are addressed in a timely and professional manner across the district's buildings.
This position is intended primarily to provide frontline technical support and does not have primary responsibility for the administration of the district's network, servers, cybersecurity systems, or other core infrastructure.

Location: On-site at Elwood JR/SR High School
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Help Desk and Technical Support- Respond to staff and student technology support requests through the district's ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot common hardware, software, network connectivity, and account-related issues.
- Provide timely and courteous technical support to staff and students.
- Prioritize support requests based on urgency and impact on instruction and district operations.
- Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions in the district's ticketing system.
- Escalate issues that require advanced technical knowledge to the IT Systems Specialist or Director of Technology.
- Troubleshoot Chromebook hardware and software issues.
- Assist with Chromebook repairs, replacements, and preparation.
- Assist with the deployment and setup of computers and other technology equipment.
- Prepare devices for new staff members and classroom use.
- Assist with device collection, inventory, and organization.
- Assist with technology equipment lifecycle activities, including deployment, replacement, and collection.
- Provide on-site technology assistance to teachers and staff.
- Troubleshoot classroom technology, including displays, BenQ interactive panels, document cameras, printers, and other peripherals.
- Assist staff with connecting and using technology equipment.
- Respond to technology issues that interfere with classroom instruction.
- Assist with meetings, presentations, and other technology-related events as needed.
- Assist staff and students with basic account and login issues.
- Assist with password and access-related issues in accordance with district procedures.
- Provide basic support for Google Workspace and other district-approved applications.
- Escalate account administration and permissions issues to the IT Systems Specialist or Director of Technology when necessary.
- Assist with maintaining accurate records of district technology equipment.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, labeling, and deploying technology equipment.
- Assist with tracking equipment repairs, replacements, and warranties.
- Maintain an organized technology work area and equipment inventory.
- Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues involving computers, Chromebooks, printers, and other devices.
- Assist with identifying network-related problems and provide information to the IT Systems Specialist or Director of Technology.
