Position: Full Time Manager of Student Accounts

Job Description

Reporting to the Controller/Budget Director, the Manager of Student Accounts is responsible for the overall operation and management of the student accounts receivable function at Lorain County Community College. This position oversees student billing, College Credit Plus billing, collections, payment plans, third-party contracts, federal fund disbursements, and annual IRS Form 1098-T reporting and supports program and financial audits as needed.

The Manager of Student Accounts maintains and reconciles accounts related to student financial activity and ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. The position assists in planning, organizing, staffing, and evaluating personnel and services within the Student Accounts area. A strong commitment to customer service is essential, as the incumbent serves students, parents, outside agencies, and members of the college community while working collaboratively with Student Financial Aid and other administrative and student service departments.

Minimum salary of $79,600, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience using financial accounting software systems.
  • Three to five years of accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of accounts receivable and collections processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems, assess operations, and make sound decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education accounts receivable operations.
  • Previous experience as a Bursar, Manager of Student Accounts, or similar supervisory role.
  • Experience with People Soft Campus Solutions.
  • Experience with fund accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
