The Lorain County Records Center's main purpose is to alleviate some of these management concerns by providing: economical storage, timely retrieval, facility security, document processing and legal disposal for those semi-active and inactive records generated as a part of the business of government. The Center serves the offices and agencies of County government with a centralized records storage center and provides records management services that will assist County personnel to maintain more efficient and effective control over the documents they create.

The Center also ensures that County records and information are preserved and legally disposed of pursuant to Ohio's records laws.
Under direction, a successful candidate will prepare documents for storage, filing, document repair, document removal; check for order and completeness, make targets needed for proper and consistent identification; update indexes of material housed in the Records Center; answer telephone requests and assists walk-in visitors in accordance with Record Center policies and procedures; retrieve records/files when so requested by offices and the public;
return records used in Center to proper location. This is a full-time union position.
- knowledge of Center policy & procedures, document processing procedures & standards
- basic keyboard skills
- ability to operate a variety of document processing equipment, maintain accurate records, carry out detailed instructions, cooperate with co-workers on group projects, safety practices, understand and carry-out written and verbal instructions.
- must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects of a maximum of 40 pounds.
