Instructional Technologist

The Instructional Technologist is responsible for training and support for instructional technology tools used in teaching and learning. This role works collaboratively with faculty to enhance student learning and faculty teaching through the appropriate use of instructional technologies.

• Identify, develop, and implement instructional strategies, software and other educational technologies that enhance student learning and engagement in all course modalities.
• Serve as a professional resource to faculty for the implementation of digital learning tools.
• Assist faculty in setting up educational technologies within their courses.
• Advise faculty on how best to incorporate educational technologies into course assessment plans.
• Work with faculty and staff on increasing the accessibility of course technology and activities.
• Analyze emerging technologies and assess their potential use.
• Lead project initiatives that improve instructional technology across all modalities of course delivery.
• Design and implement faculty training on instructional technologies in multiple formats.
• Collaborate with the eLearning team and TLC to schedule and deliver faculty training.
• Design, create, and maintain materials for faculty training on the integration and use of instructional technologies in all modalities.
• Develop and curate instructional tutorials, videos, and other job aides.
• Provide technical support to faculty, staff, students, and administrators.
• Serve in a role working with the eLearning Support Supervisor and the Learning Management Technology Coordinator.
• Provide instructional technology support at locations including the Teaching and Learning Center and the eLearning offices.
• Assume other duties as assigned by the eLearning Manager.

Some evening hours (5:00–7:00 pm) may be required.

• Associate’s Degree in Educational or Information Technology, Education, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience supporting education technology tools and systems.
• Experience providing technical support in an educational setting, preferably with Canvas, Yuja, Blackboard Ally, or Design
  
  PLUS.
• Technical writing skills and the ability to draft support and training documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of educational technology.
• Effective communication skills for training and collaboration.

• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree or higher in Educational Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience integrating new tools into a Learning Management System.
• Experience teaching online or in the classroom.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service and user support.
• Experience in developing and delivering technology training programs for diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of educational technology trends.
