Job Description
The Classroom Assistant works collaboratively with the CLC Teachers and Administrators, assisting with the daily operations of the classroom and/or center. The Classroom Assistant will assist with supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times and, when necessary, to alert the teacher of possible problems and needs of individual students or the group.
Typical Tasks- Assists with classroom set up and implementation of the daily schedule.
- Assists assigned teacher(s) with implementing daily lesson plans and classroom schedules by direct teaching, working with small groups, or individual interaction and temporarily assume teacher responsibilities if needed.
- Helps maintain a positive environment by interacting with the children and staff.
- Assists with keeping classrooms, storage areas, outdoor areas, and the center clean, neat, and orderly.
- Attends to health, nutrition, and personal hygiene needs of the children.
- Assists with inventory of supplies and materials and reports needs to the appropriate individual.
- Creates classroom materials needed to implement daily lesson plans and themes.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
The selected candidate should be comfortable working with children ages 18 months - 12 years.

This is a non‑exempt position with a minimum hourly rate of $11.96
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED, over 18 years old and experience/training to meet OCCRRA Career Pathways Level 2 or above.
- Must meet all childcare licensing requirements and must meet the standards of an extensive background check as required by ODJFS.
- Experience working with young children.
- Willing to attend professional development opportunities and meet yearly‑required training.
- Flexible schedule that meets the center’s needs.
- Preferred:
Early Childhood Education training or CDA credential.
