Overview
Reporting to the Director of Enrollment and Advising Services, the LCCC Career and Academic Advisement Professionals have a variety of duties that contribute to the educational advisement, career and employment readiness of students in defined categories. The CAAP will help students determine, discover, design and create a pathway to their academic career and completion goals. The incumbent will take a holistic approach to the development of the student from initial admission, placement, academic advising, and knowledge of financial aid, success coaching, and career coaching.
Emphasis is on experiential learning and other proven strategies to create a student experience that culminates in degree completion and career transition. Additionally, the CAAP assists students in creating an individualized career and academic plan that details courses required to meet the student’s completion goals.
Working with students in a proactive, student-centered approach with excellent customer service skills is a daily part of the position. One evening a week is required, and some Saturdays during peak enrollment season.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree
- Computer literacy
- Proficiency in word processing
- Well‑organized, energetic and amenable to working extensively with students
