Job Description
The Children's Learning Center (CLC) Center Assistant works collaboratively with the CLC Teachers and Administrators, assisting with the daily operations of the classroom and/or center. The Center Assistant will assist with supervision to ensure the safety and well‑being of the children at all times and, when necessary, alert the teacher of possible problems and needs of individual students or the group.
Assist with classroom set up and implementation of the daily schedule.Assist assigned teacher(s) with implementing daily lesson plans and classroom schedules by direct teaching, working with small groups, or individual interaction and temporarily assume teacher responsibilities if needed.Help maintain a positive environment by interacting with the children and staff.Assist with keeping classrooms, storage areas, outdoor areas, and the center clean, neat, and orderly.Attend to health, nutrition, and personal hygiene needs of the children.Assist with inventory of supplies and materials and report needs to the appropriate individual.Create classroom materials needed to implement daily lesson plans and themes.Complete other duties as assigned.We offer consistent work schedules, earned time off, competitive wages, LCCC tuition fee waivers, access to LCCC fitness center and facilities, pension and supplemental retirement, and more!
Qualifications
High School Diploma; OCCRRA CPL Level 2Willingness to complete required in‑service trainingsMust meet all required DCY childcare staff member licensing regulations, including extensive background checkDemonstrated knowledge and ability to work with young children and familiesPreferred qualification include Early Childhood Education training or CDA credential. Flexible schedule that meets the center's needs. Willing to attend professional development opportunities and meet yearly‑required training.
