Location Currently Hiring:

Dewhurst Childcare Center in Elyria- (split shift position) 7am-10am and 2:30pm-6pm during the school year, and full-time straight shift during the summer, Monday through Friday.

Wage Information

Full-time (Split) or Part-time afternoon-only hourly position commensurate with experience, training, and education. Pay Rate Range: $15.00 to $17.50 per hour. Split Shifts with more than a 3 hour timespan in between get an extra $1.00 per hour incentive! CPL 1 $ 15.00 per hour / CPL 2 $ 16.50 per hour / CPL 3 $ 17.50 per hour

Job Description
  • Homework assistance in one-on-one and small group settings; check work and ensure completion if possible
  • Plan and implement engaging age-appropriate lesson plans for classroom activities and clubs
  • Responsible for the care and supervision of children and classroom management at all times in accordance with licensing standards and best practices
  • Work independently with a group of children and as a leader for the team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit
  • Manage a classroom environment that is fun and engaging
  • Complete and document services provided, such as progress reports, attendance screenings, and assessments as required
  • Provide functional classroom support and assist with meal service as required
  • May be required to assist with center transportation plans
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information
  • All other duties as needed/assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and experience in a school age setting are required; degree or willingness to obtain a School Age Endorsement though the state is preferred
  • Experience in a classroom setting and with school age children is preferred
  • Willingness to update job knowledge with required training, DCY licensing rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities, and industry trends
  • Must be able to adapt quickly to changing environments and assignments as required
  • We seek someone who is prompt and reliable and who possesses a genuine love of children
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs. as required
  • Must be able to pass background checks and physical/ medical screening as required
