This role assumes responsibility for assigned engineering projects, investigations, and proposals under the guidance of a supervising manager. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and business development—to meet overall program objectives. Responsibilities include managing project costs and schedules while ensuring customer, quality, and delivery requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Technical Leadership

  • Estimate, manage, and maintain control of project cost and schedules
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to meet performance and cost targets
  • Define and manage technical and program requirements, including subsystem specifications
  • Serve as a technical liaison with customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams
  • Prepare technical documentation such as proposals, procedures, reports, and correspondence
  • Provide guidance, oversight, and support to engineering and cross-functional team members
  • Maintain accurate program records and project data
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen or similar efforts)
  • Lead product design activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program requirements
  • Perform or oversee analysis related to mechanical and electromechanical performance, reliability, materials, safety, and weight
  • Create, review, and approve drawings, revisions, and design documentation
  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities related to non-conforming materials or hardware
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience for Level II / 8+ years for Level IV
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, including:
  • Statics & Dynamics
  • Mechanical Component Design
  • Vibration
  • Stress & Strain
  • Strength of Materials
  • Metallurgy
  • Coatings & Heat Treating
  • GD&T, drawing layout, and stack-ups
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
  • Computer

    Skills:
  • Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS preferred)
  • 3D CAD / Solid Modeling (Creo preferred)
  • Basic programming skills
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
