Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to maintain and enhance capabilities in support of DAF CLOUD works at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. DAF CLOUD works is a rapidly growing secure cloud program that encompasses 10+ teams supporting information security, infrastructure development, and cloud migration. Along with operations and sustainment, DAF CLOUD works focuses on modifying and enhancing offerings to implement new requirements, enhance functionality, increase efficiency, or lower operating/deployment.
Successful candidates should have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be primarily focused on supporting a production environment on site at NASIC/WPAFB once properly cleared to support mission critical needs.
Basic Qualifications for a Cloud Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology or Engineering discipline with 2 years of experience OR Master’s degree with 0 years of experience OR a high school diploma or GED equivalent with 6 years of experience
U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance
Able to obtain IAT Level II certification such as Security+ within 60 days
Technical knowledge of infrastructure components, including network, storage, Linux/Windows, and IT security concepts
Working knowledge and/or familiarity with Cloud-based technologies (AWS Platform, Azure Platform, Google Cloud)
Experience working in an Agile environment/working knowledge of Agile principles, practices and tools (Atlassian suite: Jira, Confluence)
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), or Dev Sec Ops

Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience OR Master’s degree with 3 years of experience OR a high school diploma or GED equivalent with 9 years of experience
U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance
Able to obtain IAT Level II certification such as Security+ within 60 days
Technical knowledge of infrastructure components, including network, storage, Linux/Windows, and IT security concepts
Working knowledge and/or familiarity with Cloud-based technologies (AWS Platform, Azure Platform, Google Cloud)
Experience working in an Agile environment/working knowledge of Agile principles, practices and tools (Atlassian suite: Jira, Confluence)
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), or Dev Sec Ops
Preferred Qualifications:
Fundamental cloud certifications such as:
AWS Platform (Cloud Practitioner or higher certification)
Azure Platform (Azure Fundamentals or higher certification)
Experience with VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG), Rancher, or similar Dev Ops architectures
Experience with scripting, particularly in Python or Bash
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
Knowledgeable in development of CI/CD Pipelines
Expertise leveraging git for code management (ArgoCD, Flux, Gitlab)
Experience with administering cloud-based networking (ACL, Security Groups, WAF)
