Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op at our Elyria, OH location.

- Performs routine engineering‑related work requiring the application of educational study and standard techniques and procedures in the manufacturing of Lear Romec products.
- Supervised assignments & projects have clear & specified objectives.
- Work assignments provide students with the opportunity to gain knowledge, understanding & expertise in the areas of Manufacturing/Assembly Engineering (Methods evaluation; CNC and manual machining; Machining and assembly work instructions; Cell design; Fixture design; Cutting tools).
- Assumes Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities under the guidance of a Manufacturing Engineer for projects as assigned.
- Coordinates with representatives of Design Engineering, Supervisors, Quality, and Purchasing to plan and complete projects as assigned.
- Provides support for process development, tooling, systems and process improvements, cell design and layout.
- Prepares, reviews and/or approves process routings, sketches, tool sheets, NC programs, and general process revisions.
- Maintains and communicates an accurate accounting of project status.
- The work output is expected to be consistent with Lear Romec's quality and manufacturing excellence goals and objectives.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook).
- CAD Drafting/3‑D Solid Modeling experience a plus (Pro‑E and/or AutoCAD Preferred).
- NC Programming experience a plus.
- Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T) experience a plus.
- Good oral and written communication skills to effectively present information, write reports and process instructions, and provide support to various functional groups within Lear Romec.
- Work Hours Expectations: 40 hour work week.
