We provide on‑board liquid hydrogen energy storage and fuel cell power system integration services to unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturers. We work with hydrogen suppliers to provide liquid hydrogen refueling services for UAV operators.
At NEOEx Systems, we are working on an Energy and Power System and a Liquid Hydrogen Refueling System, which will revolutionize drone transportation by providing energy and power for longer duration and range operations. We work closely with UAV manufacturers to integrate our energy and power system into their vehicles to increase flight duration.
NEOEx Systems, Inc. has been growing quickly, and we continue to add new members to our team. We are currently looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanical Engineer II to join our team. This role will be responsible for designing and integrating mechanical systems into ground support equipment for fueling aircraft and for microgrid systems that will include energy generation and energy storage using battery energy storage systems.
In addition, the Mechanical Engineer II will support the development of electric flight vehicles using design, analytical, and experimental skills to support company research and product development activities.
This role will report to the Sr. Director of Operations.
Duties- Collaborate with internal design, engineering, and manufacturing teams and external vendors and partners in developing and operating mechanical systems.
- Use CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new mechanical system designs and produce detailed mechanical drawings.
- Specify precise new product functional requirements: design, analyze, test, and integrate a variety of moderately complex components to produce final designs; evaluate the design’s overall effectiveness, cost (including cost/benefit analysis), reliability (risk analysis), and safety.
- Apply mechanical engineering integration knowledge to create controlled design documentation including but not limited to Design Requirements (functional and interface requirements), Design Documentation, P&IDs, Test Requirements Documents, Component Test Plans, Design Review Packages, Hazards Analyses, and Operational Check Sheets.
- Conduct mechanical engineering calculations and analysis to solve problems.
- Create and review part specifications and bills of materials for purchasing.
- Present design substantiation and mechanical analysis in design reviews.
- Lead efforts to fabricate, assemble, and integrate mechanical systems.
- Specify and conduct as necessary component, subsystem, and integrated system test experiments.
- Prepare project deliverables including written statements of work, technical reports, and status reports.
- Ability to speak and write proficiently in the English language.
- Proficient experience in using Solid Works.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and a multi‑meter.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent.
- Experience in dimensioning, strength of materials, statics, dynamics.
- Experience working with heat transfer, fluids, and thermodynamics.
- Ability to hear audible alarms.
- Must understand the importance of safety procedures and follow safety practices.
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the field of Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
