Electro-Mechanical Engineer

As an Electro-Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be part of our Engineering team working as an onsite employee. You will:

• Become intimately familiar with the makeup and functioning of Nelson drawn arc welding systems.
• Create CAD drawings and models in NX Unigraphics (UG) based on rough conceptual sketches or verbal instructions.
• Produce final assembly drawings, manuals and bills of materials for electro‑mechanical systems.
• Develop system diagrams and support electro‑mechanical design efforts as required.
• Select and specify electronic and electrical components based on function, cost, availability and reliability for Nelson drawn arc welding systems.
• Create prototype builds, including test boxes, special cable harnesses and fixtures.
• Design electro‑mechanical circuitry and devices for new applications, system improvements and cost savings.
• Assist Operations, Service, Purchasing and Quality departments in resolving technical questions and maintain associated documentation for production.
• Provide technical assistance in electrical and electro‑mechanical matters to customers as required by service or sales departments.
• Support validation testing of Nelson drawn arc welding systems.

You are curious, open to learning, and enthusiastic about contributing to meaningful work. You also have:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSME or BSEE preferred).
• Preferable 2+ years of experience designing electromechanical systems including electric motors, solenoids, sensors, pneumatic/hydraulic units, PLCs and servo drives.
• Experience working from electrical schematics, rough sketches, CAD drawings and layouts.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, reasoning, problem‑solving skills and proficiency with a variety of hand and portable tools.
• Familiarity with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers and JTAG/in‑circuit debuggers.
• Two or more years of Unigraphics (UG) design experience (preferred).
• Experience with PDM (PTC/Wind Chill) at the user level (preferred).
• Knowledge of high‑voltage operations (575/480/400/120 V, 3‑phase and single‑phase).
• Experience with power electronics and switching‑mode power supplies (highly desired).
• A self‑starter who thrives in diverse roles and loves electronics, electromechanical systems, and testing.
• Strong organizational and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Salary range: $72,000.00 – $. The exact amount may vary by level, location and experience. Eligible candidates may receive annual merit increases.
