Quality Engineering, Process Engineer
We are seeking a Sourcing Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) based in Elyria, OH. This role will collaborate globally with commodity management teams, developmental engineers, suppliers, and other Emerson professionals to support new product development and sourcing initiatives.
Responsibilities- Drive NPD projects, including building effective RfQs, recommending supplier selections, owning costed BOMs, managing PPAP, and mitigating risks.
- Manage sourcing projects across Pro Tools’ global supply base, performing cost modeling, make/buy analysis, and capital expenditure assessment.
- Communicate supply‑chain status and risks to project stakeholders.
- Lead supplier decision reviews with executive leadership.
- Partner with suppliers to optimize design for manufacturability (DFM) and ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards.
- Support an electrical sourcing engineering counterpart in component sourcing, substitutions, and aligning supply chains for mechanical and electronic sub‑assemblies.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field with 3–5 years’ experience.
- Knowledge of quality processes such as PPAP, SPC, DFM, and FMEA.
- Strong project‑management skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills across diverse audiences.
- Experience with cost‑reduction initiatives.
- Experience aligning complex supply chains with multiple suppliers.
- Knowledge of component technical drawing reviews.
- History of developing supplier commodity strategies based on business data.
