Job Description
We are seeking a Project Engineer focused on brushless DC motor controller development to support next-generation aerospace actuation and motor control systems. This engineer will play a key role in the design, development, integration, testing, and qualification of motor controller hardware and embedded systems used in safety-critical aerospace environments.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in power electronics, embedded systems, motor control algorithms, system integration, and aerospace development processes. This role requires collaboration across electrical, software, systems, and mechanical engineering teams while supporting compliance with aerospace certification standards.

- Design and develop brushless DC motor control systems for aerospace applications.
- Support electrical architecture development, circuit design, and power electronics integration.
- Develop and evaluate motor controller hardware and embedded control solutions.
- Perform requirements analysis, system decomposition, and technical trade studies.
- Support system integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization activities.
- Develop verification and validation plans and execute qualification testing.
- Collaborate with software, systems, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure successful product integration.
- Support requirements-based development and verification efforts for safety-critical systems.
- Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations for electrical and system-level issues.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, test reports, design artifacts, and certification records.
- Participate in technical reviews, customer meetings, and cross-functional design reviews. Aerospace industry experience developing motor controllers or actuation systems.
- Working knowledge of DO-178 and DO-254 processes and documentation.
- Experience with safety-critical embedded systems development.
- Experience using MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and control system development.
- Knowledge of FPGA-based or microcontroller-based control architectures.
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI, environmental, vibration, and qualification testing.
- Experience supporting FAA, military, or aerospace certification programs.
- Understanding of ARP
4754A, ARP
4761, or related aerospace system development standards. - Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
