Engineering Manager | NEOEx Systems, Inc.

We provide on-board liquid hydrogen energy storage and fuel cell power system integration services to unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturers. We work with hydrogen suppliers to provide liquid hydrogen refueling services for UAV operators.

At NEOEx Systems, we are working on an Energy and Power System and a Liquid Hydrogen Refueling System, which will revolutionize drone transportation by providing energy and power for longer duration and range operations. We work closely with UAV manufacturers to integrate our energy and power system into their vehicles to increase flight duration.

This position is for an Engineering Manager to oversee the corporate engineering team and directly support the Principal Investigator on company projects related to product development. This role will report to the President & CEO.

Duties:

• Build, structure, and scale engineering teams to keep pace with rapid growth; own hiring, performance, and development.
• Lead prioritization, execution, and delivery of engineering programs, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and cost targets.
• Establish a strong engineering culture grounded in technical rigor, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Define team processes, tools, and standards for design, documentation, analysis, and test.
• Drive integration, test, reliability, and deployment discipline from lab to production.
• Lead all manufacturing, process, tooling, CAM/CAD, and program engineering activities.
• Develop the scope of all technical work, coordinate the team, evaluate and support prioritization of work assignments and assist with problem resolution for the full customer product life cycle.
• Evaluate suppliers’ capability and capacity to meet production schedule and cost targets.
• Maintain the test facility roadmap - identifying capability gaps, leading infrastructure investments, and scaling test operations to support our accelerating development efforts.
• Lead project Systems Engineering tasks including requirements management, design control management, hazards management, production management, standards certifications, and reviews management.
• Assist in project Safety and Mission Assurance including safety and mission assurance management, quality and reliability management.
• Assist in Product Development including contributing ideas and methods for new product designs and modification of existing product designs, contributing to the planning of fabrication methods and identification of required equipment and materials.
• Assist in project Missions Operations including operations planning, ground operations, and ground operations training.
• Assist in project Systems Integration and Test including test planning and testing.
• Assist in hiring and training qualified engineering staff.
• Mentor engineering staff on engineering tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 6-8 years of relevant work experience
• 3+ years leading and managing engineering teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to present complex technical content to leadership and external customers.
• Must be able to reorder priorities in accordance with changing work conditions and customer.
• Must understand the importance of safety procedures and follow safety practices.
• Strong business acumen with demonstrated capability to make data-driven decisions.
• Develops long-range budget and resource projections to achieve multi-year business/financial plan and product innovation goals.
• Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong operational and program-management skills
• Startup/scale-up experience, manufacturing or production ramp, and field-deployment operations
• Background in DoD space
• Active DoD security clearance (Secret or above), or the ability to obtain one.

Experience with hydrogen systems, cryogenic systems, and pressure systems.
