Patient Care Nurse Assistant

Overview

Positions are for Elyria Medical Center only. Full Time and Part Time depending on available openings. Various units. Possible units available:
Emergency Department, 6 Smythe (Ortho/Med/Surg), 8 Smythe (Cardiac/Tele) 9 Smythe (Observation/Cardiac Tele) 10 Smythe (Med/Surg), 11 Smythe (Med/Surg), Clinical Float Pool, In patient Psych, Outpatient Surgery. Day and Night shifts depending on available shifts. Typically 12 hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.

• Performs basic patient care tasks as delegated by the RN and assists, under the direction of the RN, in the implementation of the established plan of care.
• Compassionate in all interactions with patients, families, and peers.
• Follows established evidence-based prevention guidelines to promote positive patient outcomes. (15%)
• Provides a safe environment in patient rooms and on unit.
• Facilitates stocking and ordering of supplies for patient care.
• Assists with unit communication.
• Acts as a key resource for onboarding and training new team members.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
