Sonographer
Join our Sonography Team (Ultrasound tech) and provide diagnostic medical ultrasound exams. You will prepare patients for procedures, explain the examination process, assess image quality, and maintain patient comfort and safety throughout the exam. You will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to assist in diagnosing and treating medical conditions while providing compassionate care and maintaining a positive patient experience.

- Validate patient order and review relevant prior imaging
- Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct ultrasound exams in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures
- Consistently follow hospital policy to correctly identify patients and communicate and explain exam in a manner appropriate to the patient's ability to understand
- Perform ultrasound examination in accordance with departmental protocols while utilizing critical thinking skills and independent judgment to ensure that appropriate anatomical, pathological and clinical conditions are accurately captured
- Completed structured reporting document, identify exam limitations, assure images are uploaded to PACS and review exam with radiologist as needed
- Perform, follow protocol, and maintain competency for High Level Disinfection procedures
- Provide age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws ( HIPAA ) and adhere to hospital policies
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with co-workers, administrators, and members of the health care team
- Maintain required credentials and licenses
- Follow proper procedure to report equipment failures
- Adhere to hospital safety and regulatory (DNV, ODH, etc.) standards
- Follow Radiology communication plan
- Completing annual training before deadline as required by hospital leadership
- Must demonstrate the ability to work independently
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
