- Download and review CAD models in IPT and STEP file formats from engineering team
- Analyze part geometry, dimensions, and manufacturing requirements from technical drawings
- Use Edge Cam CAM software to generate toolpaths and convert CAD models into G-code programs
- Optimize cutting parameters, tool selection, and machining sequences for efficiency and quality
- Verify program logic and simulate machining operations before deployment to shop floor
- CNC Programming:
Ability to program CNC machining centers - Manual Machining:
Experience with manual work on lathes, bridge ports, and other equipment - CAD Model Conversion:
Take CAD models (IPT files, STEP files) and convert to G-code using Edge Cam software - Software Proficiency:
Edge Cam (primary CAM software used) - Complete Process:
Download programs to machines and run them to produce finished parts - Dual Capability:
Both CNC programming and manual machining skills
