About the Opportunity

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. You will participate in continuous improvement around machining and manufacturing strategies and will support our AS9145 implementation at the site.

Ideal Candidate Experience

2-5 years APQP experience.

What You'll Do
  • Perform production support engineering work, applying standard and advanced techniques, procedures, and criteria to support processes and/or systems.
  • Identify appropriate equipment and machining strategies to manufacture machined components.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities, machining methods, and quality control standards.
  • Develop, test, source, and cost‑justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods, including capital justifications, implementation documentation, and training.
  • Create new and maintain existing production routings, defining each operation required to move a component or assembly through the complete manufacturing process from raw material issuance to production, assembly, and test.
  • Define machine, tools, and gauges to be used, required feeds and speeds, and significant handling factors for each operation to manufacture and/or assemble components in accordance with product specifications.
  • Monitor overall process ownership of assigned manufacturing area(s), provide root cause analysis, and interface with other functional groups to review and resolve processing issues with corrective actions.
  • Prepare component and assembly cost estimates to support financial decisions for evaluating new business opportunities.
  • When applicable, create or modify NC/CNC programs to manufacture hardware according to product specifications while ensuring efficient production methods.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field (ideally Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience for Level II, 5 years for Level III, in manufacturing engineering (ideally aerospace, precision machining, or automotive manufacturing). Should include understanding of manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly, production equipment, and familiarity with AS9100, ISO
    9001, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Computer Assisted Design (CAD).
  • Minimum 1 year of LEAN experience (a plus to have Six Sigma training or belt).
  • ITAR aerospace plant – U.S. Persons required.
Preferred
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, etc. for AS9145 process controls.
  • Assembly experience.
  • Automation or machining experience.
