Wire EDM or CNC Grinder - 2nd Shift

Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an opportunity for a CNC Machinist (Rotor Cell Team Operator Trainee) - 2nd Shift at our Elyria, OH location.

Hours:

Monday-Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm.

This role is eligible for a $1,000 bonus!

In this position, you will learn to perform the duties and responsibilities of the Rotor Cell team certified operator occupation.

• Process rotors through various machining, EDM, and supporting operations in a team-oriented cell.
• Maintain cell inventory.
• Set up and operate numerically controlled machines and other equipment.
• Make and verify corrections to program, setup, tooling and machine settings with assistance of the Supervisor and/or Manufacturing Engineer.
• Use various gauges as required.
• Provide a finish according to the manufacturing outline and blueprint requirements including removal of burrs and edge breaks.
• Saw material as necessary.
• Clean and move parts as necessary.
• Pass an annual eye exam.
• Assist in product verification and process control using necessary measuring devices.
• Keep charts and records of completed sequences and processes.
• Rotate to different workstations within the cell.
• Perform required rework, secondary operations, routine maintenance and safety checks in the cell.
• Document all non-conformances through specified data collection procedures.
• Inspect work to ensure product meets standards at each operational step in the cell.
• Complete all required paperwork.
• Ensure all material is properly cleaned, identified, protected, and stacked before movement.
• Work with internal and external customers and suppliers and participate in continuous improvement activities as required.
• Complete all required documentation such as operator inspection records, job routers, NCRs, reject tags, move tickets, and stock tickets.
• Perform other duties assigned by the department supervisor.
• Utilize computer to access various databases.

• Experience:
  
  Wire EDM or CNC Grinder experience required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Eligibility to access Controlled Data or Information; only US Persons will be considered.

• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, lifting, and stretching.
• Lifting parts, fixtures, and containers up to 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet, grinding wheels up to 40 pounds to a height of 3 feet.
• Use of assorted burring tools and the ability to grasp tools in awkward positions.
• Manufacturing shop floor environment.
• Greasy, oil environment.
• Exposure to dielectric fluid and coolant.

Hourly rate: $37.25
