Overview
The Screw Machine Operator operates single or multiple spindle lathe type screw machines with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms to machine metal bar stock. The role includes loading/unloading parts, basic part inspection using hard gauges and measurement tools, routine 6S, labor on/off, processing scraps and completions, part quality inspection using a CMM, changing broken or worn tools, performing minor preventive maintenance, following setup instructions to switch between jobs, interpreting CMM reports, making CNC program offsets for shift/drift or tool length/wear compensation, and making basic CNC program changes.

Responsibilities- Read blueprints or job orders for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, parts to be machined, and tooling instructions (cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts, and cutting tools).
- Position and secure specified collets, bushings, and stock pushers on the stock feeding mechanism and load bar stock into the feeding mechanism.
- Re-sharpen (grind), form, and shave tools.
- Apply lubrication and cutting oil to machines and grease as necessary.
- Operate controls to cycle the machine, adjust tool positions, and set machine controls to account for timing, clearance, and chip removal.

Requirements- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in conventional machining and lathing
- Basic understanding of surface grinders and ability to operate surface grinding equipment
- Ability to add, subtract, and convert decimals and fractions
- Outstanding attendance
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
