About the opportunity:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. You will be part of continuous improvement around machining and manufacturing strategies and participate in our AS9145 implementation at the site. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years APQP experience.
- Performs production support engineering work, applying standard and advanced techniques, procedures, and criteria in supporting processes and/or systems.
- Identify appropriate equipment and machining strategies to manufacture machined components.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, machining methods, and quality control standards.
- Develop, test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods, including capital justifications, implementation documentation, and training.
- Create new and maintain existing production routings, defining each operation required to move a component or assembly through the complete manufacturing process from raw material issuance through production, assembly, and test.
- Define machine, tools, and gauges to be used, required feeds and speeds, and handling factors for each operation to manufacture and/or assemble components in accordance with product specifications.
- Monitor process ownership of manufacturing areas to provide root cause analysis and interface with other functions to review and resolve processing issues with corrective actions.
- Prepare component and assembly cost estimates to support financial decisions for evaluating new business opportunities.
- Where applicable, create or modify NC/CNC programs to manufacture hardware according to product specifications while ensuring efficient production methods.

Qualifications- What You ll Bring (Requirements): Bachelor s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (ideally Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical).
- Minimum 2 years of experience for level II, 5 years for level III in manufacturing engineering (ideally aerospace, precision machining or automotive manufacturing). Includes understanding of manufacturing processes and methods, and familiarity with AS9100, ISO
9001 or IATF 16949. - Minimum 1 year of experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Minimum 1 year of experience with CAD.
- Minimum 1 year of LEAN experience (Six Sigma training or belt is a plus).
- This is an ITAR aerospace plant – U.S. Persons required.
- What Sets You Apart (Preferred): APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, etc. for AS9145 Process controls; assembly experience; automation or machining experience; project management experience.
