Technician, General Facilities Maintenance

Position Summary

We are expanding our workforce and looking for a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional team. As a technician at a local Walmart retail store, you will execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, or fixtures. You will operate under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conduct inspections, cleaning, and repairs, and work to maintain high standards that enhance the customer experience.

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
• Can move up and down ladders frequently
• Comfortable working at heights frequently
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Able to work in various temperatures
• Hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, food equipment) with hand and power tools.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders, support Stores and Store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00, with additional bonuses disclosed during the interview process. Premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.

• Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade
• Or 5 years’ experience in one of the same trades
• Valid driver’s license
• Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

• Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical trade program
• License in the related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located
• Intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
