Field Service Technician

As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be part of our Nelson Stud Welding & Fastening team working as an onsite employee.

• Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair Nelson Stud Welding systems, including power sources, accessories, and field diesel units.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair customer equipment.
• Assist customers in person and via the telephone with equipment, accessory, and technical problems.
• Assist sales representatives with equipment, accessory and technical problems.
• Perform in‑house training and demonstrations for both internal and external customers.
• Weld samples for sales representatives and customers.
• Perform as a boiler outage service technician as required.
• Perform cycle counts as directed.
• Perform shipping and receiving responsibilities when required.
• Complete company deliveries to various customer/warehouse locations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe working environment.
• Occasionally perform general building maintenance.

• Associate degree (A.S./A.A.S.) or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read, write and interpret documents including but not limited to, complex technical documents, electrical schematics, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, area, circumference, and volume.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
