Job Summary
The Part Time Counseling Professional provides a safe and confidential environment for students to address personal counseling concerns and mental health needs. This role offers short-term guidance, crisis intervention, and referrals to community resources, helping students balance college with life responsibilities. The position also supports mental wellness programming and training for students, faculty, and staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Counseling Professional delivers short-term mental health guidance to students on issues such as adjustment to college, stress management, depression, anxiety, and personal development while ensuring compliance with privacy standards. This role assists with crisis intervention by collaborating with faculty, staff, and security to support students in urgent situations and providing follow-up care. It facilitates referrals to community partners for services beyond the college’s scope, maintains knowledge of local resources, and identifies new partnership opportunities.
The position also coordinates mental wellness programs, trains faculty and staff on referral best practices, and participates in committees or initiatives that promote mental health awareness. Additional responsibilities include supporting advocacy efforts and completing objectives determined with leadership.
Required
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.
- Active LSW, LPCC, LPC or other license granted through the Ohio Board of Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapists.
- Independently Licensed Clinician.
- 3+ years of counseling or social work experience in a community or educational setting.
Preferred
- 5+ years of counseling or social work experience in a community college setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
This is an exempt position with a minimum hourly rate of: $24.64
