Valley of the Eagles Golf Course and Event Center in Elyria, OH is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Valley of the Eagles is the premier daily fee golf course on the west side of Greater Cleveland. Our Jack Nicklaus Design layout situated deep in the Black River valley is the setting for our guests' exceptional golf experiences.

Our beautiful and devious 100% creeping bentgrass greens and a close eye on every detail makes us stand out!

• Supervising, training, and assisting the Agronomy staff in daily operation.
• Establishing daily golf experience standards, then ensuring the standards are achieved, every day.
• Working with the Equipment Technician on operator training and equipment maintenance programs.
• Working with the Course Superintendent to ensure annual budget and capital goals are maintained and achieved.
• Working with the Course Superintendent in developing and implementing an annual agronomic plan.

It is impossible to list all that will be asked of the selected candidate. In general, the Assistant Superintendent will be asked to do whatever is necessary to ensure the success of our Agronomy team, within established safety protocols.

Qualifications are negotiable, but in general they include:

• A certificate, or a two or four year degree, in Turfgrass Management, Golf Course Management, or an industry related field, or current enrollment in such a program.
• A valid drivers license.
• Currently possessing or being able to obtain a Cat 8(Turf) OH Commercial Pesticide License.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role, or equivalent education and experience.
• Irrigation and pesticide application experience.
• Strong experience managing personnel and crew operations.
