Paid Training to Obtain Your CDL!

We offer paid training to obtain your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) as part of the CDL Driver position with Lorain County Transit in Elyria, OH.

We are seeking an experienced Bus Driver to ensure safe, comfortable transportation for passengers while upholding professionalism and customer service.

Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement.

• $22.00 per hour

• Execute operations by following routes, schedules, and safety protocols.
• Provide exceptional passenger care and assistance.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and ensure cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Uphold company policies, including seat belt enforcement, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform other duties as required.

• 21 years or older.
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional).
• Valid CDL with Class C and Passenger endorsements and willingness to obtain training.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Availability for day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical as applicable; complies with DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40.

• Work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
• Long periods sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
• Work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings.

• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
