With guidance in a team environment, the incumbent will perform essential stock‑room functions, including maintaining a cycle‑counting program that validates inventory counts for accounting and production. The role also involves a variety of product support duties across logistics functions—receiving, stockroom, shipping, raw stock, parts identification, clean operations, and related tasks. Initial focus will be on the stockroom with support in shipping;
cross‑training will eventually cover all logistics positions.
- Prepare parts and materials for safe shipment, completing necessary paperwork and records.
- Prepare packaging per specifications, including computer input for labels and shipping records.
- Interpret shipping instructions from company documents or customer specifications.
- Prepare stencils and mark shipments legibly.
- Generate air bills, bills of lading, and sales order forms.
- Contact carriers for dispatching, rate establishment, or follow‑up.
- Maintain a cycle‑counting program and reconcile inventory counts.
- Identify and resolve inventory issues.
- Receive materials, check, and identify parts by type or part number.
- Prepare parts for storage and place stock in proper locations.
- Select parts from stock to fill orders per parts lists.
- Perform cycle inventory counts.
- Maintain, update, and access necessary records using a computer.
- Release, edit, and delete requisitions as needed.
- Receive shipments at the dock and forward materials to the appropriate team.
- Weigh or count incoming/outgoing parts or materials.
- Process data input to update system records and verify documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Receive incoming raw stock and verify material against documentation for accuracy.
- Load, unload trucks, and move raw material to the proper location.
- Identify, code, and cut raw materials to dimensional specifications.
- Perform minor equipment repair.
- Report critical shortages or problems to appropriate organizations.
- Issue jobs per schedule and update shop floor, MRP, and other systems.
- Identify parts using proper identification methods and equipment per traveler or blueprint.
- Lay out exact dimensions and locations for identification markings.
- Observe all safety rules and maintain a neat, orderly, and FOD‑free work area.
- Actively participate in department problem‑solving, lean events, and high‑performance teams.
- Maintain 5S in the department.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of relevant product support experience and demonstrated ability to perform position responsibilities.
- May be required to operate moving equipment, saw equipment, and meet OSHA safety qualifications.
- Must pass a visual acuity exam (far, near, color).
- May require a forklift operator certificate.
- Good level of computer knowledge, including software packages and mainframe systems.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Read and understand related forms and specifications.
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Team‑player and participative.
- May be required to post and report Team Improvement Board metrics.
