Position: CONTRACT | Senior Accountant          at Lawyers On Demand        in        Emeryville,        California

Contract Senior Accountant

Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio Company, is urgently seeking a contract Senior Accountant to support one of our law firm clients in San Francisco.

Start: ASAP following interview and selection

Pay Rate: market, negotiable, starting at $35/hour

Location:

downtown San Francisco

Duration: open-ended contract, contract-to-hire for the right performer

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Controller to oversee and maintain cost fund accounts & the firm's trust account.
  • Work closely with the senior paralegal to ensure the timely and accurate processing of settlement payments and other case disbursements as directed.
  • Prepare and process transactions, including checks, wire transfers, ACH payments, correspondence, etc., and document into accounting software.
  • Reconcile bank accounts at month end.
  • Prepare and post standard journal entries.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Work with external tax accountants on quarterly and annual requests.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
  • Produce Accounting reports and assists with special projects, as needed.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with direct exposure to accounting operation duties like AP, AR, and cash reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of Elite 3E and experience working in a professional services environment are highly desirable.
  • Law firm experience desirable.
