Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a Senior Traffic Analysis Engineer to join our Transportation Engineering team in Towson, MD, Rockville, MD, or Raleigh, NC.
This role requires a strong understanding of traffic operations and modeling, the ability to develop creative and effective technical solutions, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities- Conduct traffic operational analysis using various modeling tools
- Provide analysis to support the development of design solutions and operational improvements
- Conduct crash data analysis and perform safety studies for intersections and corridors
- Prepare summary tables, sketches, and exhibits to communicate technical findings
- Write technical reports and prepare technical memoranda
- Tabulate, process, and prepare deliverables related to traffic data collection tasks
- Perform on-site field investigations when required
- Communicate and collaborate in a team environment
- Work independently and provide oversight of junior staff work
- BSCE with 6-12 years of experience in traffic engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) required;
Professional Engineer (PE) or PTOE is a plus - Understanding of traffic analysis concepts and experience with traffic model development
- Proficiency with Synchro, Sim Traffic, Warrants, SIDRA, and HCS
- Working knowledge of roadway design principles and familiarity with MUTCD, ITE, FHWA, and AASHTO manuals
- Experience with Micro Station and/or AutoCAD is a plus
- Strong communication, technical writing, and organizational skills; positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
