Overview

Physical Security Senior System Designer – Design, install, and maintain integrated physical security solutions for commercial and industrial clients in the Mt. Laurel, NJ office. Work independently from concept to installation, collaborating with project management, IT, architecture, and facility teams to protect people, property, and assets.

Core Technical Expertise
  • Physical Access Control Systems:
    Mastery of S2, Lenel S2, Hirsch, and cloud-native platforms such as Verkada.
  • Video Management Systems:
    Proficiency with Genetec, Axis Camera Station, Brivo, and Eagle Eye Networks.
  • Design & Modeling:
    Advanced AutoCAD and Revit skills for detailed MEP layouts, 3D security models, wiring riser diagrams, and mounting details.
Professional Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 5 years of proven experience in security system design or related discipline.
  • Business Tools:
    Workflow efficiency using Salesforce CRM and Service Now service management.
Responsibilities
  • System Architecture:
    Design integrated physical security solutions, including IP-based CCTV, cloud-based management platforms, and biometric or credential-based access control.
  • Technical Documentation:
    Author project specifications, produce detailed reports, and conduct on-site surveys to verify field conditions.
  • Drafting & Modeling:
    Create 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D Revit models—floor plans, wiring riser diagrams, and mounting details that integrate technology into building shell.
  • Coordination:
    Attend design meetings with architects, MEP, engineers, and contractors to ensure security hardware does not conflict with other building systems.
  • Project Lifecycle Involvement:
    Collaborate with Sales Engineers on pre-construction scope, support Estimating Team for accurate material and labor cost estimates, and utilize BIM for concurrent design and placement optimization.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Conduct design reviews to ensure final designs comply with local building codes, life safety regulations, and client security requirements.
